We host monthly and one-day events and programs throughout the year where volunteers are always needed. These events include fundraisers, membership meetings, community events to support the Chamber's mission. Each activity needs a Volunteer Leadership Team to plan and execute the event. We need Day-of-Event Volunteers for every activity. Volunteering is a great way to contribute back to your local community, meet new people and brush up on skills.

This Chamber workgroup is comprised of business owners, community stakeholders, business leaders, and public policy professionals. The workgroup is the principal advisory group and action group representing the interests of the private sector.

About our Positions:
- Flexible hours, most of the work can be done remotely (PC/Internet Required)
- Typically require a minimum 6 month commitment
- Require 4-6 hours per month
- Non-paid
Here are some of the current needs :
Journalism
You’ll will produce engaging content that fits the style and tone of our mission. During your tenure, you’ll take on projects such as writing content, conducting interviews, uploading your content to our website, and distributing your work to local media. Publishing your work on the Chamber’s social media accounts and working with local media can add to your portfolio and fine tune your skills. If you’re interested in journalism, this is this position is for you.
Automation Programmer (Zappier of Microsoft Flow)
Using your knowledge of Zappier ( or similar program) you will be asked to create automated workflows between several application and services, sync files, collect data, and much more. The position will require you to understand the Chambers workflows processes, and then automate functions accordingly. If your are interested in learning how to directly apply your development skill to solve and improve business operation this position is for you.
Web Editorial
In this arena you’ll be responsible for writing, editing and streamlining content on our website. You will also source photos and tweak SEO settings for each page. You’ll contribute to a strategy designed to increase the organization’s internet presence. In addition to researching, writing, editing you’ll also monitor website statistics to assist with maximizing our internet presence. This is a great position for anyone who wants to learn as much as possible about digital media or to enhance your editorial skills.
Social Media
When it comes to social media, you’ll assist in crafting social media posts and monitor the impact of those posts across different social channels. You’ll also get hands-on experience posting on various platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, twitter as well as well as learning how to use metrics to optimize campaigns. This is a great persons interested in journalism or developing creative social campaigns and engaging users in the process.
Copywriting
A copywriting internship is all about writing engaging material and maintaining good communication with our team. As a copywriting intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience writing and editing Chamber brochures, reports and marketing materials. Last but not least, you’ll learn how to monitor and track click rates to modify your writing style to suit our audience. This a wonderful for anyone interested in advertising or marketing.
Broadcast
In the broadcast area you’ll be asked plan and produce short video clips. Your responsibilities could range from administrative duties like researching, booking guests, and developing scripts. The position may also include the production, editing and the posting of video on the Chamber's social media feeds. If you’re interested in learning about broadcasting or putting some of video skills to work, this could be perfect for you.
Website Creator/Small Business Consultant
In this arena you’ll be responsible for contacting new members to help identify their product or service benefits, strategize on SEO keywords, securing photos, and then writing, editing and creating web content using the Chamber's easy to use proprietary software. After completing your needs assessment you will set-up a one page website complete with social media links, appointment system, and a virtual store. If you have a entrepreneurial background you can contribute greatly to helping a new business get off the ground!

As a nonprofit agency, we could not survive without the dedication of our volunteers and their tireless efforts. It is important to be very organized and to outline some general responsibilities of Chamber volunteers.
Committee Member's Pledge:
- I am fully committed and dedicated to the mission, purpose, and goals of the Chamber.
- As a volunteer, I understand I will serve without compensation.
- I can commit to fulfilling my obligations with my time, talent, treasure, and relationships.
- I will avoid conflicts of interest between my position on a committee and my personal life or business. If such conflict does arise, I will declare that conflict to the Chamber staff.
- I promise to make decisions that are always in the best interest of the Chamber.
- I will attend regularly scheduled meetings, be available for consultation by phone and e-mail
- If I miss more than 3 consecutive committee meetings without proper notice or am otherwise unable to fulfill my obligations, I will offer my resignation or request a leave of absence.
- I know that I am a de facto ambassador for the organization. I will never offer myself as an official spokesperson for the organization without proper authority from the Chamber CEO.
- I will work with Chamber staff to come up with a plan that is reasonable for my personal situation, and I will leverage my relationships to secure additional resources if required.
- I recognize the significant obligations of the staff in carrying out the work of the Chamber, and I will do my best not to interfere with the staff’s operating and oversight responsibilities. While I have the right to speak with staff members about matters of mutual interest, I understand that I do not have the right to direct the actions of staff members.
- I understand that the Chamber CEO/Executive Director is responsible for developing plans and oversight of all events and managing the organization’s resources to meet those objectives.

The Surprise Regional Chamber of Commerce is a business organization with a vested interest in the communities of El-Mirage, Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, Waddell and Youngtown. We are an organization of businesses seeking to further their collective interests and to advocate on behalf of the community at large, economic prosperity and business interests. We are a business-led civic and economic advancement entity not affiliated with any governmental entity.
