Public Policy
In public policy, you will familiarizing yourself the Chamber's goals, mission and legislative agendas. During your work experience you will learn how to research, track and tabulate voting records, data analysis, and more. You may also be afforded a chance to interact with Chamber volunteers, and contact key local, state and federal officials. If you have an interest in Political Science, Public Policy, International Studies, Economics or Business Administration this may be the position for you.
Journalism
You’ll will produce engaging content that fits the style and tone of our mission. During your tenure, you’ll take on projects such as writing content, conducting interviews, uploading your content to our website, and distributing your work to local media. Publishing your work on the Chamber’s social media accounts and working with local media can add to your portfolio and fine tune your skills. If you’re interested in journalism, this is this position is for you.
Automation Programmer (Zappier of Microsoft Flow)
Using your knowledge of Zappier ( or similar program) you will be asked to create automated workflows between several application and services, sync files, collect data, and much more. The position will require you to understand the Chambers workflows processes, and then automate functions accordingly. If your are interested in learning how to directly apply your development skill to solve and improve business operation this position is for you.
Web Editorial
In this arena you’ll be responsible for writing, editing and streamlining content on our website. You will also source photos and tweak SEO settings for each page. You’ll contribute to a strategy designed to increase the organization’s internet presence. In addition to researching, writing, editing you’ll also monitor website statistics to assist with maximizing our internet presence. This is a great position for anyone who wants to learn as much as possible about digital media or to enhance your editorial skills.
Calendar Content Marketing
The calendar content marketing position will will research and post business related events to the Chamber calendar. The Chamber Calendar is viewed over 16,000 time per year. The information posted needs to organized, researched and must be in keeping with the Chamber brand image. You’ll also get a chance to cross promote the calendar with our community partners, monitor and improve our click rates for maximum visibility. The position may also write press releases about specific Chamber events and activities. This is a wonderful position for anyone interesting in marketing.
Social Media
When it comes to social media, you’ll assist in crafting social media posts and monitor the impact of those posts across different social channels. You’ll also get hands-on experience posting on various platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, twitter as well as well as learning how to use metrics to optimize campaigns. This is a great persons interested in journalism or developing creative social campaigns and engaging users in the process.
Copywriting
A copywriting internship is all about writing engaging material and maintaining good communication with our team. As a copywriting intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience writing and editing Chamber brochures, reports and marketing materials. Last but not least, you’ll learn how to monitor and track click rates to modify your writing style to suit our audience. This a wonderful for anyone interested in advertising or marketing.
Broadcast
In the broadcast area you’ll be asked plan and produce short video clips. Your responsibilities could range from administrative duties like researching, booking guests, and developing scripts. The position may also include the production, editing and the posting of video on the Chamber's social media feeds. If you’re interested in learning about broadcasting or putting some of video skills to work, this could be perfect for you.
Website Creator/Small Business Consultant
In this arena you’ll be responsible for contacting new members to help identify their product or service benefits, strategize on SEO keywords, securing photos, and then writing, editing and creating web content using the Chamber's easy to use proprietary software. After completing your needs assessment you will set-up a one page website complete with social media links, appointment system, and a virtual store. If you have a entrepreneurial background you can contribute greatly to helping a new business get off the ground!

The Surprise Regional Chamber of Commerce is a business organization with a vested interest in the communities of El-Mirage, Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, Waddell and Youngtown.
