Eight Helpful Tips
- Your login information is your e-business card for the event. Double check your contact information when you sign in!
- Have a short 30-second opening prepared in advance (name, chamber affiliation, tile, etc. )
- Don't be overly enthusiastic to talk about yourself and your chamber. It's almost always better to ask more questions than you're answering.
- Take notes on their chamber. This will help you to be more specific in your follow-up.
- Ask great questions. The only way to get to know someone else is to ask them genuine and thoughtful questions.
- When meeting other chamber professionals, it's important to remember that even if they can't help you directly, someone in the chamber network probably can.
- Generally, it is best to only give people your business card after you had a good conversation and you have made a good connection. Focus on connecting!
- Pay attention to the control panel. The control panel will tell you how much time is left, who you are talking to, and who is coming up next. Review the ice-breaker questions on the screen.
