Each year thousands of visitors come to Surprise, Arizona to enjoy our blue skies, sunshine, and spring training games. Surprise has wonderful golf courses, museums, restaurants, and plenty of trails for biking and hiking. Consistently, Surprise has been rated as one of the safest cities in the Southwest. Our city is new and upcoming, so it’s no surprise we are often called the “playground of the West Valley.”
Below are some of the highlights of our community and popular crowd-pleasers:
Enjoy some exciting baseball. Voted the best place to catch a spring training game, Surprise Stadium is the proud Cactus League home of the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals.
With near perpetual blue skies, Surprise offers lots of golfing opportunities including three Greg Nash-designed golf courses.
Flanked by one of Arizona’s largest mountain preserves, the White Tank Regional Park is situated in the saguaro-dotted Sonoran Desert and is only minutes away. Plan a day trip for some fun adventure, like hiking, biking, and horseback riding (no experience required).
Play tennis, racquetball and table tennis at one of the top centers in the country, the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex.
Arts and Culture: Stunning natural beauty is just the beginning in Surprise. We have arts and culture with Arts HQ, WHAM, City Hall Art Collection, West Valley Symphony and an impressive variety of outdoor art treasures, like the 12’x78’ media mosaic called Reflections of Surprise.
Enjoy the nearby Wildlife Zoo, Aquarium, and Safari Park, pick-your-own citrus farms, the Roses at Leyton Farms and Uptown Alley. Uptown Alley is a local gathering and entertainment complex complete with dining, sports bar, bowling, laser tag, billiards and kid’s activities.
Don’t forget to support our local businesses while enjoying your visit here. By supporting local business, you contribute to the local tax base, which means you are also supporting city services such as police, fire, and community recreational services. Secondly, you help create local jobs for residents, who would otherwise have to leave the area to get employment. Your patronage is very much needed and appreciated.
Stop by Surprise Visitor Center for your complimentary visitor guide or map. The visitor center and gift shop is operated by the Chamber of Commerce and is at 16126 N. Civic Center Plaza, Surprise AZ, 85374.
