What your business needs to know about the upcoming changes to the City of Surprise sign code ordinance. These changing regulations are impacting businesses of all sizes and industries!

Business owners play a critical role in the development of the regulations!

What is reasonable?

Communities seem to have a love-hate relationship with temporary signs. Most understand the need for temporary signs when it comes to things such as business promotion, identifying properties that are for sale or lease, or promoting special events, but they also struggle with the administration and enforcement of temporary signs due to the ever-changing nature of this type of sign.

The City of Surprise is in the process of amending City Code Chapter 113, which deals with signs. The update aims to balance business needs with aesthetics, while meeting the requirements of law.

Eric Fitzer, Community Developemnt Director, City of Surprise
